Digital dental x-rays are safe and faster than traditional x-rays. Digital x-rays reduce your x-ray radiation by 90 percent. This new technology is also very efficient and accurate when making a diagnosis. Instead of the dental film used in the past, the electronic x-ray receptor is inserted into your mouth. The receptor coverts the dental x-rays into digital signals, which are processed on the near your dental chair. These digital images give the doctors and the Dental Hygienist a higher resolution of your teeth, bone, root and tissue. Instead of waiting on traditional dental film, you can actually see your x-ray on the computer screen in a matter of seconds. You will be able to clearly see and understand your x-ray. These images are then stored in computer memory, from which they can be easily retrieved, combined and manipulated to provide more information.
